Kumarakom is a tiny tourist village in Kottayam district, Kerala. Surrounded by the Vembanad Lake, which is supposed to be the largest backwater in Kerala, Kumarakom is the perfect blend of nature and its psyches. The Taj Garden Retreat is the first modern tourist resort in Kumarakom and is supposed to have been the house of four generations of the Baker family.
