Jaipur or the Pink City was founded in 1727 by Maharaja Jal Singh II. Jaipur is known for being the first planned city of India with the king taking a great amount of interest in designing the layout of the city. The city is home to major palaces that took about 4 years to be constructed in the architectural style that were in accordance with the principles of Shilpa Shastra, the Indian Architecture System. The rich and cultural heritage of Jaipur can be easily seen in the various historical places that dwell in the city.
