Located on the left bank of the Banas River, Nathdwara has today become a very famous pilgrimage center. Large number of devotees flock this place of worship. Nathdwara is famous for its pious and sacred Vaishnava temple that is dedicated to Lord Srinath and is one of the highlights of Rajasthan Religious and Pilgrimage Tours. The place where the idol of Lord Srinath is located has become a famous tourist destination. This idol has been sculpted out of a single piece of black marble that belongs to the 12th century. It is said that the revered statue was first installed by Sri Vallabhacharya in a temple near Mathura, from where it was transported to Nathdwara to save it from being vandalized by Mughal armies.

The most famous place in Nathdwara where tourists flock in large numbers is the Srinathji Temple. The Haveli of Srinathji, as the temple is usually called, was once the palace of the Rajput rulers.
