Udaipur is known as the city of lakes as it is home to a number of lakes, one of which is Lake Pichola, which is famous for being the most beautiful lakes among many others. It is known for the palaces and forts that were constructed in the Rajput era. It is home to the Lake palace, which stretches at leisure at an entire island. Other items include folk toys, puppets, traditional attire, pottery, metal wares, paintings, silver jewellery, precious stones, turbans, crafted idols of Gods and Goddesses in terracotta; stone and metal, tie-dye fabrics, paintings, and hand printed textiles. The miniature paintings are done in original style of the Mewar School of Art. Some of the popular bazaars in Udaipur are Hathi Pol, Bada Bazaar, Chetak Circle, Bada Bazaar and Palace road.
