Located on the east coast of Tamil Nadu in southern India is the port city of Cuddalore on the banks of the mighty Bay of Bengal. This rich historical place also known as “Kuttalur,” meaning the town at the junction point between the rivers Ponnaiyar and Gadilam, lies on the south side of Pondicherry and at a distance of 192 km from Chennai. Its history dates back to more than 2000 years when its ancient seaport was used as a loading centre for trade far across with the Roman Empire.
