Erode lies on the north west of Tamil Nadu. Just 100 km east of Coimbatore, Erode is situated on the western bank of river Cauvery. About 27 percent of the area is covered under dense forests. The lush green extensive forests are rich in items like sandalwood, teakwood, vogai, rosewood, etc. Formerly a part of Coimbatore, there are a plenty of beautiful temples in Erode as well.
