Day 01 : Cochin
Upon your arrival at the Cochin International Airport, and after all custom formalities when you will exit the arrival terminal, you will be met upon by a company representative from TNS Travel, who will receive you with warmth and you will enjoy a traditional Swagat (Welcome).
Further he will assist you at the airport and arrange for your transfer to the hotel where you will check-in. After check-in, we wish that you take some rest and relax at the hotel after a tiring flight. Your overnight stay will be in Cochin.
Day 02 : Cochin - a page which beholds history
Your breakfast will be at the hotel. After breakfast, our representative will receive you at the hotel and you will head for a sightseeing tour in Cochin.
You will first visit the Santa Cruz Basilica, a monumental church dates back to 1558 and have beautiful paintings on the ceiling. ST. Francis Church, built in 1503 by Portuguese Friars; it is the India's oldest European church. After this you will visit, Jewish Synagogue, built in 1568, it is the oldest synagogue in the commonwealth countries. Known for mid 18th century hand printed.
In the evening visit, Fort Kochi, built by the Portuguese in 16th Century, the Fort of Kochi later changed possession from the Dutch to the British. Now, the historic quarter is declared a Heritage Zone and showcases fascinating fusion of architectural styles, food and culture.
In the evening you will experience the Kathakali Dance Show. Evening shall be at leisure, relax at your hotel. Your overnight stay will be in Cochin.
Day 03: Cochin – Munnar - Enjoy the serene vibrations...........!!
By Road - 110 Kms – 3 Hours
After breakfast, drive to Munnar. Upon arrival, our representative will assist you during check-in at hotel. After check-in, enjoy a sightseeing tour here.
First visit the Tea Museum & Processing Unit, the Tea Museum is run by the prestigious Tata Tea, in Munnar whose origin dates back to 18th century. On display are interesting relics and artifacts from the bygone era.
After this you will visit Pothamedu, a scenic spot offering majestic views of the tea, coffee and cardamom plantations in Munnar.
Also Visit Eravikulam National Park where you can see the very rare mountain goats locally called the Nilgiri Tahr, Pothamedu (view of tea, coffee & cardamom plantation & breath taking hills & lush mountains) the Echo point, Thoovanam falls & Top station Diary farm.
Rest of the day shall be at leisure. If you wish you can also go for nature walks or taste the various spices and breathe in the fragrant air while exploring Munnar.
Your overnight stay will be in Munnar.
Day 04 : Munnar – Thekkady (Periyar National Park)
By Road - 110 kms – 3 hours
Early in the morning after your breakfast at the houseboat, you will you will leave for Periyar by surface.
Set high in the ranges of the Western Ghats is the Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve. Periyar wildlife sanctuary has a picturesque lake at the heart of the sanctuary. Formed with the building of a dam in 1895, this reservoir meanders around the contours of the wooded hills, providing a permanent source of water for the local wildlife. Though it’s a Tiger Reserve, but it is famous for its elephant.
Upon your arrival, our representative shall arrange for your check-in at the hotel.
Later in the day you will head for an exciting visit to the Periyar National Park. Here you will experience a session of elephant ride. Explore the wildlife in the region.
In the evening enjoy a camp fire at your accommodation site. Your overnight stay will be in Thekkady.
Day 05 : Thekkady (Periyar National Park)
We leave the day fully at your own interest. Visit the park again and enjoy another elephant ride or enjoy the facilities in the resort. You can let your children enjoy the elephant ride.
Day 06 : Thekkady – Alleppey (houseboat) – the backwater retreat.......!!
By Surface - 135 Kms - 03 hrs
After early breakfast proceeding to Alleppey: (The Venice of the East) is a district of immense natural beauty, caressed by the Arabian Sea in the west and a vast network of Lakes, Lagoons and freshwater rivers criss-crossing the backwater county.
On arrival check-in at Houseboat cruise Alleppey round (a luxury boat made in ethnic Kerala style having well appointed sitting room, bedrooms, toilet and kitchen) enjoy the tranquil beauty of the inland waters and the countryside for one day.
Houseboat Cruise at Alleppey through narrow canals, Pathiramanal Island, Virgin village, paddy fields, historical places, Temples, Churches, Snake boat, Coconut beer shop (Toddy shop), Kuttanad Village etc.
Enjoy spectacular lush green paddy fields, where you may enjoy an unique nature, life style of village people and their activities like Coir roping, Toddy tapping etc.
Meals served will be of typical Kerala cuisine. Evening: Tea / coffee with snacks & Banana Fry.
Candle Light Dinner: Rice/Chapathy, Dal Curry, Vegetable Curries and Chicken Curry. Breakfast: Bread with butter, jam & eggs or Kerala style Breakfast (Iddly/Dosa). All meals will be provided in the House Boat. Any changes required will have to be intimated in advance. Pure Vegetarian dishes, Dishes with Less Spicy for European Guest, North Indian Recipes etc. are also known to our Chef.
You can also buy fresh Prawn, Crab or any fresh fish during their cruise from fishermen (fresh catch) and our Chef will prepare if for the guest according to there taste without any additional charge.
Day 07 – Alleppey – Kovalam
By Surface 160 Kms – 4 Hours
Your breakfast will be at the hotel. Later our representative will arrange for your transfer to Kovalam by surface.
Kovalam lays 13 kms away from Trivandrum. Soft white sands, emerald sea and swaying palms make for an idyllic destination for those who love sun, sand and surface. Upon arrival check-in at the hotel. After check-in, may relax as the rest of the day shall be at leisure.
If you wish you can spend your time in the beach here and relax yourselves. Your overnight stay will be in Kovalam.
Day 08 & 09 – Kovalam – the beach retreat.......!!
We leave you these day’s fully at the beach. As the resort is finely located in the midst of the Arabian Sea you will many a beaches to relax and enjoy sunbathing. You will also have full access to the facilities available at the resort (Swimming Pool, Gym, Library etc.).
Your overnight stay will be in Kovalam.
Day 10 - Kovalam – Trivandrum Departure
Morning shall be at leisure.
Later in the day our representative will arrange for your transfer to Trivandrum. Upon your arrival in Trivandrum, you will be transferred to the International airport from where you will board your flight for onward journey with sweet memories of the tour with TNS Travel.
